This one is part editorial and part engagement session. The creative team planned an amazing styled shoot in the Imperial Sand Dunes, and they picked an engaged couple as their models. Morgan and Teddy met in a smoothie shop while in college. After 10 minutes of chatting, he told her he was going to “change her last name” and made a dramatic exit. The rest, as they say, is history.
Morgan describes their first meeting: “We met at the end of fall semester of 2014 at the University of Kansas during my freshman year and Teddy's senior year. Our "first meeting" story is unlike the typical college "met in a bar" story. We actually met at a smoothie shop on our college campus. We did the typical "what's your name" "where are you from" etc., but still not your typical meeting story. The first time we met lasted 1o minutes at most before Teddy dashed out the door. At the end of the 10 minutes, Teddy asked for my name again, but this time asked for my last name as well. He then looked at me and said "I'm gonna change your last name" and then left the shop. No joke!”
How Morgan knew he was the one: “I think I knew Teddy was the one when I couldn't see my life events happening without him. He was always the first person I wanted to tell news to, the first person I wanted to see when I woke up and the last person I wanted to see at the end of my day.”
How Teddy knew she was the one: “I've never seen or had a picture of what a perfect relationship should be like, or what kind of partner I should have but after I met Morgan I couldn't see anything other person taking that place. She's the best thing that's ever happened to me without planning for it, and I wouldn't want to change that.”
We have to take a moment for this beautiful location. We know you probably thought it was Dubai, but it’s not! It’s right in the USA between San Diego and the Arizona border.
Randi of Southern Winds Photography describes the location: “The Imperial Sand Dunes is located about 2.5 hours east of San Diego. If you are ‘“guesstimating” it’s location on a map it’s basically on the border where California, Arizona and Mexico meet. It’s quite a trek for the average person but boy is it worth it...massive sand dune peaks start popping up on the road ahead. I think massive is a bit of an understatement. These peaks rise to 300 feet above the desert floor. We are talking a whole 200 feet higher than the sand dunes in Death Valley.”
This was the perfect place to capture Morgan and Teddy’s love. They are in the middle of planning their wedding and they’re thinking “classic, black tie wedding”! I bet it’s going to be gorgeous. We’re wishing the two of you the best!
